ADEERA LEVIN / NEPHROLOGY

Dr. Levin has an extensive portfolio of teaching, administration and research activities. She is active in national and international CKD initiatives, and is the founder and currently the co-director of the Kidney Function Clinic. Her key research interest is in early kidney disease, anemia and cardiovascular disease in kidney patients. She is currently the Secretary General of the International Society of Nephrology. She has over 215 peer reviewed publications, numerous book chapters and review articles. She is on the editorial boards of a number of journals, and is a reviewer for nephrology journals in addition to NEJM, Annals, Lancet, Circulation and others. She is Executive Director of the BC Renal Agency, a provincial agency responsible for the coordination and funding of patients with chronic kidney disease.

Dr. Levin trained at University of Toronto and McMaster University for her undergraduate and medicine degrees respectively, and completed a fellowship in nephrology at Uof T. She has been on staff at UBC since 1990.

In addition to academic activities, Dr. Levin enjoys swimming, reading, travelling and wine.
